Cotswold welcomes the art of Robert Motherwell!
Never thought of Charlotte’s Cotswold as an art community before? Neighboring the SouthPark neighborhood, just down Sharon Amity, Cotswold offers tons of shopping, restaurants, and all the sophistication of SouthPark, but on a smaller scale. Never thought of Cotswold as an “art community?” Well think again!! The Jerald Melberg Gallery is located in the heart of Cotswold and provides art to the local community with true professionalism, knowledge and expertise.
Work on display at the Jerald Melberg Gallery represents artists from all geographic regions, many of whom are revered for their art endeavors. In this diverse display of art from around the globe, artists such as Romare Bearden, the master American collagist of the twentieth century; Wolf Kahn, considered by many to be the premier living American landscape painter; and Robert Motherwell, one of the leaders of the American Abstract Expressionist movement, are just a few of the artists featured throughout the gallery walls.
More about the artist: Robert Motherwell is best known as American painter, print-maker and editor of artwork. He was one of the youngest of the New York School, which also included artists such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, and Philip Guston. Motherwell is a Surrealist.
