The Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary, Shaun Donovan said while visiting Charlotte!! He attributes the key to helping struggling homeowners avoid foreclosure is the $25 billion national mortgage settlement the government worked out with the Lending facilities. He feels this settlement ultimately helps both sides of the aisle, by stabalizing the market, repeating a housing crises but more importantly providing the consumer a single point of contactso asnot toforeclose on homeowners while they are seeking to negotiate with their lenders.
