Homeland Home Sells FAST in SouthPark!
Attention Homeland fans! The SouthPark home of Sgt. Nicholas Brody was sold earlier this month!
Charlotte real estate market is definitely recovering! Case in point (even though the residence comes with a celebrity glow) is the unbelievably speedy sale of the “Sgt. Brody House” in SouthPark’s Mountainbrook neighborhood!
According the the Charlotte Observer, former owner, Vicki Tetreault said that the house sold in one day, with five offers, and sold for the original asking price of $394,000! We hate to sell it, said Tetreault of the house where she has spent much of her life. She and her brother co-own the home now. But between rising property taxes and the recovery of housing prices in Charlotte, Tetreault said it seemed like the right time to sell. Shes contemplating a move to the Matthews area, or perhaps out of Mecklenburg County to find lower taxes.”
The Charlotte Observer also noted that “Home prices in Charlotte rose8.3 percent in July compared to the same month last year, a report released earlier this month found.” Keller Williams listing agent, Mike Andersonlisted the Mountainbrook neighborhood housefor sale. TheCharlotte Observernoted that the four bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home has been the scene of domestic drama for the Brody family for the first two seasons of Homeland (although the show now has a set designed to look like the house, where most of the interior shots are taped).
SouthPark’sto the great success of the show, this past January the former owners experienced thetourist destinationthat they house had become.”About 25 people came by to take photos at Christmastime,” Tetreaultsaid. The Observer noted that “Tetreault’sparents built the one-story home in 1960.
Realtor/Broker Mike Anderson said the houses star turn was a minor selling point…Mountainbrook is a terrific neighborhood, he said. Im not sure the Homeland drove any more interest. It just showed really well … Homes that are in good condition, priced right and staged properly, the buyers are out there.
So keep positive Charlotte home-sellers! Even if your house is not a star-studded celebrity house, the real estate market is picking up and sellers are profiting!
